Founded in the 9 th year under Emperor Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty (the year 1870),it is well-known for its producing and marketing Suzhou style candies,pastries,roasted seeds and nuts,preserved fruits,saline taste and other local flavor foodstuffs.At the end of Qing Dynasty,the Suzhou style candies were listed as "tribute" because they were very efficacious after having been contributed by the then famous Doctor Cao Cangzhou to Queen Dowager Cixi for her to use them as auxiliary medicines.The products are made with choice pine,peach and apricot kernels as main materials,so they are good in color,flavor and taste in their ready-made form,and are rich in local features south of the Yangtze River.And its crunchy candies,sesame cakes and pyramid-shaped candies have become Suzhou special products known to every household.
